comfy

the world is your living room

As you probably know, the definition of "comfy" is different for different cultures.  The people in my neighborhood here in southern Taiwan find these chairs outside very comfy.  It is very rare to find them vacant like in the above picture.

Each time Gilby and I walk by here there are usually several old men having a conversation and enjoying the cooler outside air.

  1. Isn't that just great that every gets together to chat with the weather a bit cooler and that is comfy for them. :)

  4. What a lovely thought--an outdoor conversation between friends and neighbors!
We Americans have lost the warmth and charm of front porches and back doors, haven't we?

  6. I miss the times when people would just sit out on their front porches and visit with their neighbors. This is a great comfy pic. :)

  7. Yeah, they sure don't look comfy! But maybe it's the fresh air and the company that are the comfy part in those chairs?

  9. Hi Amanda...
I've just discovered your blog through Deb at Mountain Musings. I'm enjoying reading about you and Gilby and your adventures in Taiwan. This picture is so neat and reminds me of my little hometown. The elderly men used to sit at the main intersection beside the city hall and enjoy chewing the fat. I'd almost forgotten about that until you shared this picture....good memories.
